MA5X Barnacle Remover Concentrate 55-Gallon Drum | Marine Hull & Cooling System Descaler
For marinas, boatyards, fleet maintenance teams, and marine detailing contractors that need reliable barnacle and scale removal across multiple vessels and seawater systems. Available in a 55-gallon drum for centralized storage, drum pump dispensing, and pallet delivery.
MA5X Barnacle Remover Concentrate in the 55-Gallon Drum is the same EcoMarine phosphoric acid formula used in the 32 oz and 1-gallon sizes, scaled for commercial volume. One drum yields approximately 275 to over 600 gallons of working solution depending on dilution, delivering predictable cost per cleaning cycle across continuous operations and peak seasons.
Key Features & Benefits
- Concentrated phosphoric acid descaler: Dissolves barnacles, sea lime, rust, salt deposits, and organic buildup on hulls, waterlines, and seawater cooling circuits, helping prevent overheating, flow restriction, and impeller damage in service fleets.
- High yield, lower cost per job: Typical dilutions range from 1:4 for heavy growth to 1:10 for routine maintenance. One 55-gallon drum produces approximately 275 to over 600 gallons of working solution, supporting continuous operations through peak seasons.
- Fast dwell, clean rinse: Ten minutes of contact time is typically sufficient to break down heavy deposits. Rinses clean with minimal residue, supporting fast turnaround on hull and cooling system work.
- Asset-friendly when used as directed: Formulated for fiberglass, gelcoat, painted hulls, and seawater cooling components, reducing the need for aggressive mechanical scraping and system dismantling.
- Built for bulk handling: Standard 55-gallon drum integrates with metering pumps, recirculating flush rigs, and pallet racking to simplify chemical control across multiple docks and sites.
Dilution & Application
For external hulls and running gear, pre-rinse to remove loose growth. Apply diluted between 1:4 and 1:10 with clean water using acid-resistant sprayers or brush applicators on cool surfaces out of direct sun. Allow up to 10 minutes of dwell time, agitate as required, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water. For seawater cooling systems and heat exchangers, charge the circuit with diluted product and circulate in a closed loop following your standard operating procedure, then flush completely with fresh water.
