MA5X Heavy-Duty Degreaser Black is a pH 12-13 alkaline concentrate built for engine grease, carbon deposits, industrial soils, and the kind of buildup that accumulates over months of heavy use. Stronger than the MA5X All-Purpose Degreaser, and appropriate when the job genuinely calls for it.
What It's Good At
- Engine compartments and undercarriages: Penetrates and emulsifies heavy petroleum grease, oil, and road grime that lighter degreasers can't break down without extended scrubbing.
- Fleet and heavy equipment maintenance: Handles the accumulated soils on commercial vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and machinery between service cycles.
- Concrete floors and shop floors: Cuts through compacted grease and oil stains on garage and warehouse floors. Apply, dwell, scrub, and rinse.
- Commercial kitchen equipment (exterior surfaces): Effective on hood systems, fryer exteriors, and heavy equipment. Rinse all food-contact surfaces thoroughly with clean water before returning to service.

How It Compares to the Other MA5X Degreasers
MA5X makes three degreaser strengths. The All-Purpose Cleaner and Degreaser (pH 11-12) is for daily general cleaning in facilities, offices, and food service environments. This one, the Black (pH 12-13), steps up for heavy commercial degreasing on vehicles, engines, and industrial surfaces. The Industrial Degreaser (pH 13-14) is for the most extreme applications. If you're not sure which one you need, start with the All-Purpose and step up only if results require it.
Application
Apply directly to the soiled surface using a spray bottle or brush. Allow 3 to 5 minutes of contact time. Agitate with a brush or pressure washer on heavy deposits. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Use in well-ventilated areas - this product contains 2-Butoxyethanol, which requires adequate air circulation. Do not mix with acidic cleaners or use in the same spray line as descalers, hull cleaners, or vinegar-based products.

Safety - Signal Word: DANGER
This product carries the GHS DANGER signal word. It is classified as causing serious eye damage (H318), skin irritation (H315), and possible allergic skin reaction (H317). Eye contact can cause permanent damage.
Required PPE: Chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses or face shield. Use in well-ventilated areas due to 2-Butoxyethanol content.
Eye contact: Flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses. Call a poison center or doctor immediately (P310).
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly with water. Seek medical attention if irritation develops.
Keep out of reach of children. Store away from acids and oxidizers. Do not allow spills to reach drains or waterways.
